Some of the messages communicated through the film are that human existence isn't really us existing but following the same path as the people around us. We need to stop and enjoy the true beauty of the world and not let ourselves be programmed to be robots. Were blinded by our own shield of ignorance and were so closed minded. We need to expand our minds and learn to see both sides of things and not everything is "just okay". The meaning was conveyed through a string of images put together wisely. This could also be called juxtaposition which is the placement of images with comparison or contrast put together to create a larger meaning. The whole film was made of juxtaposition which if you payed attention created the meaning of the film.

The media played a role positively in the genocide by people, the media, by them capturing what happened in Rwanda. The people that still sent in the truth and didn't try to cover it up with sweet lies about what was really happening. Though the media did help they also gave a negative affect on the genocide. They didn't share with the United States what was really happening because it "wasn't a concern of ours" and "we weren't to be bothered with outside business". They kept the gruesome truth from people for a while until things were over.
